About the event
The Jamanis Project offers a special opportunity to hear two generations of a musical family on the same program. Violinist Dr. Michael Jamanis will perform alongside his parents, Frances Veri and Michael Jamanis - the celebrated piano duo Veri & Jamanis, who have performed together for more than sixty years - and collaborative partner, percussionist Matthew Woodson.
From classical masters to contemporary activist composers, the program takes audiences on a journey across musical landscapes and time. Works are drawn from the forthcoming recordings Flights of Fancy and The Violin Emancipated. Veri & Jamanis, renowned for their interpretations of George Gershwin, will also perform his Cuban Overture.
